I have created my elements for the Group Project video, working out what my section of the video will include and creating the components for the stop motion animation. I also checked in with the group and made a plan in order to get the video recorded and put together with the other sections before the deadline.
SAW promotes and grows talent, crew and services of the film and TV industry in Wales. It is a non-for-profit organisation that aims to lift the film and TV industry in Wales and help it recognise its global potential.
They provide information to people who work in the industry and people who would like to work in the industry in Wales. They also source and recruit crew, locations and services for production companies, alongside promoting talent to international film and TV markets. They are passionate about inspiring people to explore the career opportunities and educating young people about the possibilities of working within the creative industries in Wales.
I really enjoyed hearing about the stop-motion animation craft and industry, especially the links to ceramics, metal working and other applied arts skills, for the creation of the armatures, puppets, props and costumes.
The amount of detail that goes into creating these films is astounding, and maintaining the stop motion animation 'feel' is a key aspect of the art, with Georgina Haynes talking about the fact that they got 'too good' at one point, leading to her stepping backwards and excluding some of the new technologies.
