Jo Marsh spoke about Ty Pawb and their work:
Ty Pawb is a community space.
It has a focus on Play work , Wrexham is going to be the "Capital of Play" when it goes up for city of culture again this year. This play work manifests itself in the use of 'play scapes'- large wooden components that come together to form interactive environments.
It is passionate about 'socially engaged art practice' and advocating for children through their own play & creativity.
Artists who would like to get involved should join the mailing list, apply to an open call opportunity, an artist in residence oppurtunity or approach them with a proposal.
There are yearly exhibitions that are open to emerging and established artists to apply to.
The space includes two gallery spaces, a performance space , meeting rooms, a bar and food court alongside the market hall which has over 30 local independent businesses.
Following this, I wondered Is there any similar thing on the Wirral? So I asked around local artists - and yes! there is :
Future Yard ,https://futureyard.org/ is a live music venue and community hub. It hosts a range of things such as yoga, music workshops and has a cafe, bar and outdoor seating area. Whilst primarily for music, the space also has an exhibition space which is currently showing "inspired by Rons place". This space appears to be bringing the people of Birkenhead together, and whilst it isn't as art and community driven as Ty Pawb, it is a really great resource for people to have and is constantly growing.
Wirral open studio tour https://wirralarts.com/ is a great opportunity to see what kinds of art is being made in the area, and to meet and support the local artists.
Wirral Make Fest https://wirralmakefest.org/ is another great oppurtunity to see local artists and what they create, and unlike the open studios, it also hosts makers with skills such as coding and robotics and aims to inspire collaboration between the disciplines.
There are also a range of courses available on the Wirral which would teach new skills and provide new possibilities, such as welding courses at Wirral Met which are less that £400 for those over 19. https://www.wmc.ac.uk/courses/engineering-motor-vehicle/introductory-welding-skills-metal-inert-gas-mig-welding-award-e145 .Learning a new skill that is different to my degree but still complimentary is something that I am interested in doing and a course such as this would be the perfect opportunity to do so.
My favourite artists and creatives, all of these people explore multiple mediums and continue to learn new skills whilst maintaining distinctive bodies of work.

Peter creates the most amazing 'doodles' and has recently ventured into metal sculpture, maintaining his distinctive style in every medium he works with.

Genevieve La Valle is a multidisciplinary artist who works with tufting, paper collage, painting, weaving and other medias.I particularly enjoy the colours that they use and the fruit theme that appears in many of their pieces.

Cas Holman designs play systems that are designed to encourage exploration and imagination , as well as giving workshops and talks to companies to help re-imagine processes and use the 'power of play' in all aspects of life.

Lauren Tepfer is a visual artist who creates immersive images with a focus on light and texture. The atmosphere that she captures in her work is beautiful and she has a distinctive body of work.

Kelli Anderson is a paper engineer and RISO print artist who explores the connection between art and technology. Her work is incredibly skilled and she hosts workshops for RISO animation and pop-up art.

Bookhou works with visible mending, tufting and sustainable methods to create artworks and products. Every little scrap is used and worn things are given new leases of life. The cohesive colour palette that she uses and use of texture and pattern result in really lovely, unique items.
